Venues

Guests can attend physical exhibits at five sites. The main site is the former Sears building in Frandor. There will also be satellite exhibits at Impression 5, Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center, Reach, and the Refugee Development Center. Sometime soon after the physical exhibits there will be an online version displaying the art from those exhibits.

The pieces in the collection were thoughtfully selected based on the mission and purpose of the specific sites where they will be displayed. Each venue tells a different story of creative expression in the face of systemic injustice.

Exhibition Sites

Frandor Sears Building

April 5th – April 30th

The Sears building in Frandor will house the largest collection of art out of all the sites. This building will house artwork from first-time painters to established poets, showcasing how people from around the world have been expressing their creativity in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center

April 5th – April 29th

Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center will showcase works from the St. Louis-based and Indian-born artist Sukanya Mani. Her artwork tells the stories of survivors of domestic violence throughout the pandemic, encouraging thoughtful reflection. This site will also house an interactive video where viewers can contribute their own voices and stories.

REACH Studio Art Center

REACH Studio Art Center will highlight artwork from younger generations and allow the youth of today to experience their peers’ creative outlets. The workshops at this site will encourage collaboration among participants of all ages.

Impression 5 Science Center

Impression 5 Science Center will exhibit the connection between science and art as fields that influence and inspire one another. The artwork at this site spans across various unique mediums, pushing viewers to change the ways in which they traditionally think about art.
